The National OBD Communications Tool Kit was released at the OBD2K Conference hosted by the Center in May, 2000. This tool kit provides sample public outreach materials and radio announcements that can be used by I/M administrators and automotive industry representatives to help the public understand its responsibilities related to OBD.
prepared by ERG and released by US EPA in September 2001 provides a comprehensive plan to create national awareness of OBD as an emissions control strategy. The strategy was developed based on a thorough analysis of existing OBD outreach materials and discussions with vehicle Inspection/Maintenance (I/M) program managers who have successfully implemented OBD programs.
